Digi Reaches 850,000 Active Services in Its First Year of Operations in Portugal
Digi has completed its first full year of commercial activity in Portugal with a total of 850,000 active services, including 471,000 mobile numbers and 159,000 internet customers, the telecommunications operator announced today. Of the internet clients, 132,000 also subscribe to TV services.
Back in January, during a press meeting in Lisbon, Digi reported that by the end of September it had 813,000 active services, comprising 443,000 mobile numbers and 150,000 fiber internet clients, of which 128,000 also had TV services.
The operator emphasized that these "positive results reinforce Digi’s commitment and demonstrate confidence in the Portuguese market, which continues to seek freedom of choice and fair-priced services."
Digi highlighted that network expansion—both mobile and fiber optic—has been a key objective, alongside efforts to enhance indoor coverage. In addition, the company has invested in continuous improvement of customer support, actively listening to feedback and planning to maintain this focus throughout 2026.
The Digi Group also reported a total of 32 million RGUs (Revenue Generating Units), marking a 15% increase compared to the previous year across its operations in Romania, Spain, Italy, and Portugal. This growth included 4.3 million new customers in TV, internet, voice, and mobile services.
Consolidated revenues for the group rose 12% year-on-year, reaching €579 million.
The year 2025 was characterized by expansion and new launches in Portugal, with Digi enhancing its TV lineup by adding channels such as SIC, CMTV, and Now, and introducing new 500 Mbps internet speeds, prepaid plans, and eSIM cards. Digi also inaugurated its first two branded stores and entered Porto’s Metro system.
The operator also celebrated its first anniversary in Portugal and began operations in the Lisbon Metro, reflecting its commitment to innovation and service accessibility.
For 2026, Digi plans to maintain its focus on continuous service improvement and meeting the real needs of consumers. The company aims to expand its presence in Portugal through opening more points of sale nationwide, implementing new mobile coverage sites, extending fiber optic coverage, and reinforcing its commitment to job creation.
These strategic moves underscore Digi’s long-term vision for growth in the Portuguese telecommunications market while prioritizing customer experience and service quality.
